Recognition of Prior Learning

In a brightly lit classroom, an attentive Industry Skills Training staff member is assisting a focused female student with her work on a laptop. The staff member, wearing a black polo with the organisations colorful logo, leans over to point at something on the screen. In the background another student is seen working independently. The atmosphere is one of collaborative learning.

Acknowledge your Previous Skills

So How Does it Work?

All qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations are fully recognised by Industry Skills Training. Where appropriate, these can be used to reduce a training program being offered by Industry Skills Training.

Students seeking recognition for other qualifications are required to provide original certificates or certified copies to their trainer, who will make note of the qualification. This process is typically observed where participants produce a prerequisite qualification for an Industry Skills Training course they are wishing to undertake.

A visit to your workplace may be organised so you can demonstrate your abilities. You may have to provide job descriptions, references or performance appraisals.

The assessor will consider your skills and knowledge and match them against a suitable qualification.
